Bathroom Remodel: Before and After

Where do I begin?! Our current home happened by chance and was an exciting surprise after we chose to sell our “life long home”, which needed a gut renovation, to friends. A family friend had our current home on the market and had renovated most of the home. There were still (what we thought were small) updates that were needed, but we figured they were simple DIY’s we would do along the way. After purchasing the home we knew our girls bathroom was our first, and immediate, hurdle. I wish the pictures below would do it justice, but the bathroom was cramped, dingy, and completely lacking character. There was a kitchen cabinet used for the vanity, which took up so much room it was difficult to bath our girls. The bathtub had dingy yellowing tile, an extremely shallow bathtub, and a shower head that was too low for any grown adult to fit under it. Overall, it was a total gut job!

BEFORE

Thankfully we were able to set up for a contractor and our tile guy to complete the work while the girls and I were on an extended out of town trip. Unfortunately for my Husband he was stuck at home with the dust. We had pre-purchased all of the tile and fixtures ahead of time to save money, so once the work started it was actually completed faster than we expected. The contractor did the demo work and installed the new bathtub and toilet, while our tile guy finished the floor, shower, and mirror wall. We were going for an updated, light, bright, and clean look, and that is exactly what we got! The best part was that we were able to save money by shopping for all the materials on our own and managing the job ourselves.
